Hey guys! hope all is well. I have some great news. The decision has been made and I will be participating in my 1st Half Marathon ever, after my last event the idea was re-planted again and now it will become a reality.

I will be participating in the "Flight Of Fire" 1/2 Marathon on May,14 2016. This great event is being hosted by the Triple Dare Running Company, #TDRC. I will be trying to finish this 1/2 marathon within 3:00:00 hours from the start. By the Time I get ready to run this I will have completed a total of 140 Miles for this year. The distances that I have conquered have been: 1K,3K,8K,10K, 15K.,  with that being said I will now attempt to set a Personal Record (PR) for my 1st 21K or Half Marathon.

Have you ever wondered, why do  people run these crazy distances? I have, however this time I can really give you straight honest answer. Running for me is more than just a tool to lose weight, it has helped me learn to be patient, focused, determined and most of all it has give me a new found purpose in life. So thats why I run, Im sure everyone will have a similar reason. What's yours?

Who would have thought that an average JOSE like my self would be out here grinding,  running side by side next to the pro's putting in that hard work, sweat, blood and yes even tears. I will make this another positive experiences  in my life and at the same time inspire others to take charge of theirs. I don't know what my time will be but I do know that at the end of this race my life will once again change, giving me another reason to continue my life journey to becoming a better version of myself.

So to all those that have ever asked, can I do it? Should I do it? or have ever said I can't do that? that's impossible?. I assure you nothing is impossible, its time to take charge instead of becoming complaisant with your current life. You want change,then do something about it.

One last thought, there are so many reason to become a runner from enduring a loss to enduring a drastic transformation. Running will always help endure life challenges. Most importantly it reminds me that every time I tell myself "I can't do it" Or "Its not possible", I will know that I just need to shake it off because it not the TRUTH.

​Part 1

   Welcome everyone, hope you guys are doing great. As for me things couldn't be any better, my training is going great. I feel and see the improvement every day, so let get started.

Its been about a month since my last blog, so I wanted to follow it with the 2016 Windy25 Memorial 5K  hosted by T.A.P.S and held at the LAS VEGAS COSMOPOLITAN, this is their 6th annual event. The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) offers compassionate care to all those grieving the death of a loved one serving in our Armed Forces. So what better way to show my appreciation than to run for a fallen soldier who gave his life for my freedom. THANK YOU.

My Saturday morning started with a rain shower that lasted about 45 minutes after I woke up at 4:30am on 4/9/2016. I got dressed and got my gear ready and head out to meet up with my friend Lor Esquino, who will be handling all videos and photos for this event, thanks bro.

We managed to make it to the bus stop. It was a nice bus ride up Sahara. I was able to see many runner enjoying the beautiful cold over casted day. We finally arrive at the Cosmopolitan. Once there we decide that we need some hydration and maybe a bit of food, so we head down to the nearest gift shop. As I approach the cashier she started to scan a small orange juice bottle I was buying, when she tells me that will be $12 please, I almost had a heart attack..LOL. Can you believe it, they wanted $12 plus tax. No ways Jose.

​So we decide to just to walk to CVS. I was able to get everything I need for the same price. By the time we walked back I only had about 30 minutes left to get dressed and get ready to knock this race out of the park. I manage to see a hotel guest out on the strip with his robe only. Wish was funny. Take a look. LOL.

I was greeted by Brook Hergert, thank you so much for allowing me the chances to be part of this event, and for those that are curious on where this race was taking place here is a photo of the route also.

One thing I love about this, is being able to find old friends and make new ones. I got the opportunity to finally meet Pete Pele, who is a big time local Youtube figure in the weight loss game in Las Vegas. I also met his good friend Mario Pena. Who is also working on his own journey. Keep it up and never stop running.

​It was finally time to get myself in line, so I can get this run on its way. As we started I need to get my apps going. I highly recommend that you down load Sports Tracker, I believe its a great tracking app for your running and walking. I also recommend that you create a nice play list so you can run to a beat.  Music allows your mind to focus. I also have a few motivation speeches that help me stay pumped. Heres a good photo of myself getting in the ZONE. I told my self I would get it done under 44 Minutes. So lets go get this!
